We apologize for any delay in addressing the recently reported problems with the groups feature on CRTeacher.com. In order to fix the issue, we have upgraded the site which is now running Moodle 1.9.

MoodleSpeex installed on CRTeacher.com

At the request of more than a few of our CRTeacher.com subscribers, we have installed MoodleSpeex for use on CRTeacher.com. MoodleSpeex allows users to record their voice and upload the resulting file to a discussion forum. This is done seamlessly within the existing Moodle discussion forum interface. MoodleSpeex also adds the ability to upload a recorded voice file directly to a Moodle course's file area for use throught the course.

QuickMail block added from Humboldt University

We have installed the open-source third-party Quickmail for Moodle block that was developed and released by Humboldt University in California.

From the site: "The Quickmail block lets an instructor send an email to all or select students in his course. Attachments can also be sent and a history of sent mail is kept."

To activate this new Moodle block:

Login to CRTeacher.com as with a teacher account
Enter your assigned course
Click the "Turn editing on" button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, looking for last block labeled "Blocks" near the bottom left corner of the screen
Click on the drop-down menu labeled "Add..." and select "Quickmail."
Place the new Quickmail block where desired within your course.
