The release of a fully integrated third-party module by dimdim for use with Moodle has been installed on CRTeacher. This module allows CRTeacher subscribers to select Dimdim Web Meeting from the Add an activity... drop-down menu available in each center section displayed within a course.

The web meeting software offered by dimdim features include: cross-platform (PC, Mac and Linux) usability, desktop sharing, annotation and whiteboard tools, and the ability to assign presenter capabilities to any participant.
File upload: create & enroll studentsTeachers should only utilize the file upload method of creating and enrolling student users if their students do not have access to email. Otherwise, teachers should require their students to create their own user accounts and self-enroll in the appropriate courses.

Use the information below to create a .csv file formatted to create student user accounts and enroll them into a single course or multiple courses. Within 24 hours after a .csv file is sent, a member of the ClassroomRevolution.com team will upload the .csv file using administrative tools not available to CRTeacher.com subscribers.

You can easily create a .csv file using Save as feature available in spreadsheet software such as the open-source OpenOffice.org Calc or the commercially available Microsoft Excel. The first row of your file is used to provide field names for the user information being uploaded.

It is highly recommended that you review the user upload documentation in order to properly format your .csv file. Any .csv file received which is not properly formatted will not be uploaded.

You may also download and modify our sample .csv user upload file. This file includes many popular user parameters, including emailstop for use with users who do not have a valid email address, and course1 which is used to enroll users into your course. If users need to be enrolled in multiple courses, you can add course2, course3, etc., to the first row of field names. Each user's unique information should be entered in a separate row. Please ensure that each user's password is at least 8 characters long, otherwise the user will be prompted to create a new password upon first login.

Students without email access
If your students do not have access to email, you should create a false email address for the email record associated with each user. When preparing a .csv file containing false email addresses for your users, please also add the field name emailstop to the first row in your .csv file, and set this field in each user record to 1. This setting will disable email functionality and ensure the proper operation of each user account that is configured with an invalid email address.

Using the Teacher Support block on the home page, please submit a support ticket and attach your completed .csv file to a ticket requesting that it be uploaded by our technical staff.

Account Confirmation

Once a new user account is created, CRTeacher will automatically mail a confirmation email containing an authentication link that must be clicked in order to activate the new user account.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam filter. Some spam filters automatically remove any email that appears to be automated.
